PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Madelyn Solid 14k Gold Double Chamber Slide Heart has been specifically designed with two separate chambers. This elegant piece is perfect for remembering two very special loved ones together or for keeping ashes in one chamber and keepsake items in the other. Opening is via two small screw ports on the lower sides of the pendant.

ABOUT SOLID GOLD:

24 karat Gold is 100% pure Gold but this precious metal is rarely used in its pure form for jewellery because it is very soft. Pure gold is not durable and scratches and dents very easily. It is the addition of other metals that produces the different karats, and therefore variations in colour and hardness.

18k is 18/24s pure gold (or 75% pure gold).
14k is 14/24s pure gold, (or 58.5% pure gold).
10k is 10/24s pure gold, so it is less than half gold (or 41.7% pure gold).
9k is 9/24s pure gold, again less than half gold (or 37.5% pure gold).

To obtain different karats, pure Gold is blended with a number of metals - usually a mixture of copper and silver in Yellow Gold and nickel or palladium in White Gold.
