The Madelyn Puffed Heart (with open centre) is a lovely contemporary design made from Gold Vermeil (solid .925 Sterling Silver overlaid in gold). It has a heavy feel and has been polished to a mirror-like finish.

Gold Vermeil (or Rolled Gold) is a heavy layer of Gold over Sterling Silver and is much more durable than standard gold plate.  With care the gold overlay will last a very long time.

Opening is via a secure and discreet screw port at the back of the pendant.  The small flushed screw allows access for keepsakes or a small amount of cremation ashes.
